I was wondering what you record on, cause I've been frustrated by the sound I am getting, it is so harsh and sounds far away. I liked your recording a lot and thought maybe you know more about it? It also could be that no amount of tweaking or editing can make up for cheap recording instruments? Thanks Andrea

Hi Andrea! I'd like to say it's my fabulous voice... But it's actually my microphone. I use a USB mic that plugs into my computer. This gets away from the computer fan, and gives a cleaner quality recording - as you have already noticed, there's no substitute for a quality recording! Editing can only do so much.
I started out with a receptionist headset for $30, then went on eBay and got a second hand professional mic. If you are thinking of buying something, have a look in the Wiki, and there's a current thread on it here: viewtopic.php?f=23&t=69102

One more done. I live in a full house, and to find a quiet space is almost impossible, but I think I realized that your sound changes dramatically with where you record, and yes, you probably all knew that, but I didn't. Thanks also for the answer on the mic and how you record, Elizabby. Anyway, these chapters I've been doing are really short which makes it fun. Like I said if there are any issues still, just let me know. I am still working on checking everything and I know I still miss really little words here and there from the old english. But I like the book all in all. Thanks
