Sorry about that Availle. I have just uploaded section 12 and I'm at least 70% sure the filename is right this time around  The final time is 33:06 https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/gleaningsinbuddhafields_12_hearn_128kb.mp3
I welcome any constructive criticism!

Here is section 7:

I have taken a basic Japanese course once, so I hope my pronounciation is ok.
I had to rerecord some parts, if they are too different sounding, I can try again, but I don't really know why the sound changed so much :hmm:

Thanks for your file!

Small things can influence your sound: different placement of the mic in the room. Different placement of you wrt the mic. A different time of day for your recording. An open window/door somewhere completely different... If you make a mistake - and you notice it while recording - best to redo immediately.

There are other ways to prevent sounding different, but you'll find them out once you're more experienced

Unfortunatly, all those were mistakes I didn't notice while reading :(
Hmmm, so many different things. At least, I am now more conscious of noises I make which I never noticed before :)

Ava, your AWOL DPL checking in here. Sorry for my absence. I see I'm a little behind. I need to do something relaxing, so I'll get to those sections today.

Here are PL notes for Section 7, Ningyo-No-Haka:

1) The length of the silence at the beginning is a little short. Please make sure there is 0.5 to 1 second of silence at the beginning.

2) 00:05:28 -- I hear "wrought" instead of "wrung". Since this is a footnote that translates and explains the Japanese text, and since using "wrought" instead of "wrung" changes the sense of the sentence quite a bit, I thought this was worth a mention.

I enjoyed listening to this reading. Well done!

I will PL the other sections next.

Here are PL notes for Sections 11 and 12, Nirvana.

Section 11:

Since this is not the last chapter of the book, please remove, "End of Gleanings in Buddha Fields by Lafcadio Hearn" from the outro.

Section 12:

You said "End of 12" instead of "End of Section 12" in the outro.

00:16:45 -- If you want, you can also remove "from" in "comes from the memory" since it changes the sense of the sentence.

A suggestion for future recordings: If there are several parts within the same section, you don't need to repeat the book title, author, and chapter. You can just say, "Part 2," or "Part 3," etc.

Thank you for including the footnotes. Quite an interesting chapter. Well done!

Thanks, here is finally the corrected version:

I rerecorded the whole translation of the poem, now it sounds more like one.
