No problem, Sonia. All the more incentive for you to wake up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed tomorrow.

Act 3 was strangely short for the Duke, so here it is: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/debelleisle_richelieu_3.mp3

Here are Richelieu's last two acts:

I was planning to do them tomorrow, but this play is so good that I gave in to temptation and finished it off. Let's hope I did the role justice.

 excellent Tomas, I just listened to them all in one go !

Here my thoughts. In Act 1 you started out quite suave and soft-spoken and I immediately thought of Malkovich. He seems to have been your role-model indeed. Or maybe it was an unconscious decision. In Act 2 you start showing a more evil side of him, especially while he is reading that letter, I think your tone of voice changes quite a bit towards the more scheming. One can only pity poor Gabrielle. I loved Act 3 where he suppresses the urge to lose his temper too much when he thinks himself wronged by Gabrielle because he is sure he met her the previous night. And finally in Acts 4 and 5 he finds his conscience and honour back and really wants to make right all his wrongs. This is really a case-study in character and you did it very well.

I'll mark Acts 1, 2, 3 and 5 PL ok already.

In Act 4 I found a small pronunciation error and as I suspect you want to have your French correct everywhere, I'll not it down:

> at 9:30: "I might get a lettre de cachet" - if you want to pronounce it all correctly, it's "cachet" with a 'k' sound at the beginning, not a 'sh', or else it would be written "chachet"

Excellent work Tomas !

Thanks for pointing that out, Sonia. Definitely don't want a Frenchman to mispronounce a French word LOL; I've edited the file and re-uploaded for spot PL.

Thanks for your feedback, and I'm glad you pointed me to the role. It was really fun to do.

right  you were in Oroonoko as well ! You know, I listen to so many readers in so many different plays, that sometimes I can't remember who has been were LOL
and Act 4 is also PL ok. Well done Kurt, I especially like the final two exclamations, they sound really so astonished and incredulous.

That was it for d'Auvray for this play, unfortunately. But I'm sure I see you around in other plays :D

To help get this finished, here are the few lines of Chamillac.

I could also do the lines of the various Footmen if it would help.

wo-hooo an unexpected Chamillac ! Thanks so much Alan, for helping out here. :) All your lines are perfectly read and nothing missing. You sounded suitably frustrated by the end of the card game, probably because you lost

The volume was a bit under the required minimum, so I amplified it a little bit to save Todd the trouble later on. Also, there was quite a disagreable tone in your background. I needed to noise-clean a bit before listening to the file. Are you maybe recording next to some electrical appliance ? :hmm: Maybe worth checking, if you could trace the source of the noise.

Anyway, I was able to clean it out with Audacity and reuploaded. So no need to do anything more on your part. I'm glad you offered your voice, that's the main thing. :D

hm as far as I know, I think Todd prefers no doubling roles. But let's hear what he decides.

Thanks !

I would be willing to take on the role of the footman (acts 2,3, and 5), if so assigned.

yay, thank you Roger :9: this makes us almost fully claimed now.

Todd, sorry, in my over-enthusiasm, I assigned the roles already...I completely forgot you are already back from the eclipse.

What's wrong with over-enthusiasm? So now we are almost full!

Thanks, Todd
