Diana Tempest by Mary Cholmondeley (1859 - 1925).

This project is now in the catalogue. All audio files can be found on our catalogue page:
http://librivox.org/diana-tempest-by-mary-cholmondeley/

Colonel Tempest , his wastrel son Archie and beautiful daughter Diana (Di) are dismayed when they are cut out of the will of old Mr Tempest, Colonel Tempest’s brother. All of the Tempest fortune and estates at Overleigh pass to son John. However, everyone except John knows that he is illegitimate.

Colonel Tempest, enraged, agrees in a drunken stupor to a bounty of £10,000 on John’s head although he later comes to bitterly regret this.

Meanwhile, Di, who is strong and independent, has vowed she will never marry. However, as she gets to know her cousin John, over time they become close.

John eventually learns of his illegitimacy and its implications. What will therefore happen to his deepening love for Di and his claim to the family fortune?

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi Simon,

I'll MC this one for you. I'll set it up later today.

Ok, you're all set up. I changed the end silence requirement to be 5 seconds regardless of the length of the file. I added the _128kb to the end of the filename.

Do you have a proof-listener lined up? If not, you can add the ~ to the beginning of the subject line to indicate you're looking for one.

I think that's it. If I've missed or messed anything, let me know.

Have fun!
Bev

Thank you very much, Bev.

I think I've added the ~ as you suggested as I've not got a proof reader lined up. Fingers crossed . . .

Thanks Dave, you're in as DPL!

Simon,
The ~ worked pretty fast!

In your filenames just use the 2 digit section numbers 01 - 45 so they sort correctly. Don't worry about this one with the 101 if there are no edits required, I can easily change it on the server. If you need to edit after Dave PLs then you can reupload with the correct digits.

You're off to a quick start. I'll move this to Going Solo.

2
00:00-00:30 the first 30s have a higher volume; if you highlight just this section, you can "amplify" it by about -5dB to make it closer in volume to the rest of the file.
