If it pleaseth the gods in Shakespeare heaven, I should like to take on 34 and 35, the roles of Lady MacBeth and Portia. :D

I assume that I would submit separate audio files for each role?

Please remember to post your corrected file for sketch 1.

Thank you for your additional claim. Since both of the roles are in the same sketch a single file is preferred.

PL notes for sketch 2:
3:28 missing stage direction – and hang your ancestors! [Rises nervously.]

4:41 missing text – Well-did you tell her? come along, then, and do my hair. Oh, what a face!

Opening silence needs to be less than 1 second.

11:03 End of Sketch 1.
I hear section 1

There needs to be 5 seconds of ending silence.

Your file should be named as modernmonologues_##_cooke_128kb.mp3 where ## is the sketch number, e.g. 01

When you post a file always remember to post the file duration.

You meet the minimum volume requirement of 86dB but you are right on the edge at 86.4dB. I struggled to hear you with the volume all the way up on my computer. You don’t have to change anything for this section since you do meet the requirement but you may want to consider compression followed by amplification for future recordings. Here is a video. It may not be the most updated software but it’s close and should get you what you need. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fKYYj6HMZU

I don’t record straight to the computer so I can’t help you with your track question. You can try posting in the help forum.
Hi Linny,
I was not aware that I needed to submit a corrected file for sketch #1, because you said that I didn't need to change anything for this section since I do meet the requirement. You did suggest using compression followed by amplification for future recordings.
I will submit a corrected file, if necessary.
From what I understand, I need to have less than a minute of silence at the beginning, and leave 5 seconds of silence at the end. I will record "End of Sketch 1."
Should I also try to use the compressor again, and amplify?
I will save the file as you directed, with _128kb

Today I'll work on edits for both Sketch 1 and 2, and send you the edited files. :D

Thank you, Linny!

Sorry for confusing you. You don't have to make volume corrections to sketch one unless you want to but the other notes need to be fixed.

I'm having so much fun with this project! You will receive my edited Sketches 1 and 2 later today. Fixing the issues you pointed out will be my first priority. I watched a YouTube video today about splitting a track, recording another track with the missing segment, moving the original tracks, then copying and pasting the missing segment into the correct part. I do have a question: when I do this, should I first analyze the noise level, do the noise reduction, do the compression, then amplify that one added segment, before adding the segment on to the main track? I assume that would be the best way, to keep it uniform with the original track.

I would like to also claim sections 62-65. A Highly Colored Sketch. That would include the stage directions and both roles. I've studied minstrel shows and the "talkies" from 1927 through the 1930s. I can do an authentic rendition of this sketch.

I am also still prepared to do the roles of Lady Macbeth and Portia. I haven't seen my name on that claim yet.

You will receive Sketch 3 file as well, within a few days.

Thank you so much!

No problem, Linny. I'm a newbie at this, so I can get easily confused.
I will work on Sketches 1 and 2 today, edit them according to your directions, and submit them ASAP.
Thank you for your help!

I haven't seen my name yet to claim Lady Macbeth and Portia. Should I start working on that file, or wait till my name is on the claim? I will submit a single file containing both roles.

MW updated with your claims. Thanks you for pointing out I was behind on that.

Everyone edits differently. I recommend the help forum to see if someone is available to guide you more.

Thank You! I'm sure there are many different ways of editing. I'll start with the instructions from the YouTube video I watched.
And thanks for updating my claims!
