And I'll take the fourth planter if you like. You will find the files here:

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/oroonoko_4thplanter_1.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/oroonoko_4thplanter_2.mp3
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/oroonoko_4thplanter_5.mp3.

I have read the shouts in two different ways, to allow for different methods of mixing voices.

excellent work Tom, thanks so much for jumping in here. All the speeches are in, and you sound like a nasty piece of work, especially with your final "hang him" shout.

The volume of Act 1 was only 76 dB (you whispered), while the one of Act 5 was 97 dB (you shouted) No matter, I quickly adjusted the volume and re-uploaded both acts. No need to change anything anymore.

All three Acts PL ok

oops we seem to have missed this post along the way. Well, usually Tomas assigns the roles, but since he is not in yet and since this is the last role unclaimed, I will put you in the MW myself.

Welcome aboard Paezra and thanks for joining the project. Have fun with the planter 8-)

Wow, full already! What a great way to end a weekend. Thank you all who have signed up!

(Of course, many of the central characters need to be recorded, so that's still another hurdle to cross. But I'm sure the parts will slowly come in in due time. At least everything's been cast!)

thank you, that was quick

all the lines are in and well said. I especially like the nasty call to hang the rebels at the end. This will sound so mob-like once all the angry voices are assembled together at the end.

No errors found, so all three Acts PL ok

Hopes you like it :)
thanks Larry, this was a big role for you in Act 3

Aboan sounds so calm and composed at the beginning until he starts plotting rebellion and exclaims “Cut our oppressors’ throats” Wham ! hehe. In the end he is more insistent with Oroonoko to make him see the use of the revolt. A good interpretation and character study

Also, the aside was nicely conveyed in the beginning. He sounds really suspicious of Hottman there

I have a few small textual corrections to add though:

> at 2:09: missing sentence “your pardon, royal mistress, I must speak”

> at 4:24: “they execute on every slight offence” – I hear “ever sight

> at 8:34: “we shall expect you, Sir” – you say “respect”

> at 9:32: “but to be shunned by none” – you say “in none”

> at 11:00: “I have a way to take him off his evidence” – you say “take care of

I recorded the first two acts for Oroonoko but don't think I used a good voice for him. Will work more on it....

Thanks, Todd

I'm glad you liked it so much and I conveyed it so well, I think I have found my home in Dramatic Roles :)
