1. The volume needs increasing to within the acceptable level of 89 - 92 dB it is currently lower than this
There's a small program the spouse of a LibriVoxer developed to check the tech settings. You can download it and use it to check the volume and other settings. It's here: http://cgjennings.ca/checker/index.html
Use the latest version, which I believe is 0.96. The volume information is in the Information tab. We aim for 89 dB, but anything between about 87 and 91 is good.
You can also check you volume in audacity if you do the following

If you could carry out this edit and reupload using the same filename but all in lower case then I can check it for you and you should then be good to go and record sections.

I just want to let you know that I've been without Internet for 2 weeks but have now resumed my 'usual' activities. I was recording this afternoon but will do it again in the evening, as I am unhappy with the result. Sorry to keep you waiting.
