Hira:

Thank you for your reading! An excellent first effort! You have a nice clear voice and you deal with the rhythm of the poem very well. Good job.

There is just one thing at 0:29 I heard the phrase "forky beard" I expected to hear a forky beard. (Sorry if this seems picky, but in poetry--every syllable counts).

One more thing--when you upload files, always post the running length of the file with it. It assists in the cataloging process.

I look forward to hearing you again.

Many thanks,

Philip

Oh drat! Does that warrant a re-recording? (or maybe I could just edit that part). I think because I read it so many times that I got a little too comfortable with the text.

And I'll keep that in mind for the next time I post! Thanks for the feedback :9:

hi and welcome to librivox!

you are welcome to read that section. to be able to sign you up, i need to know under which name or pseudonym you would like to appear in the catalog. we can also link to your personal website or blog.

i see you have already completed the one minute test, so you can get started right away, but i need your catalog info to reserve the section for you :) thank you!

only the part is enough, no need to rerecord the entire thing. it will sound better if you record the whole line though - and you can listen to your poem before recording that line so that you know what you sounded like originally :)

let us know if you need any help!

Hi Carolin,

Many thanks! I'd like to appear under the name Alemi please.

I am still very new to this so appreciate feedback and advice from the PL'ers.

Alemi:

Welcome to Librivox! Congratulations on completing your first reading. It was word perfect!!

However, there are a couple of technical issues that need to be fixed (which should not require re-recording) before I can mark it PL-OK.

(1) The audio level is too loud. The acceptable decibel range is from 86.5 to 91. This file checked in at 95.9. If you haven't downloaded the checker, yet, it is located on this page:

http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

There is additional information on how to adjust your file's audio here:

http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Amplifying (Section 3.2 is particularly helpful.)

(2) The file is recorded in stereo instead of mono. After you have fixed the audio level, when you export the file again to mp3, there should be a radio button on the export screen for mono (or maybe a check box). Check it export the file again. I'll recheck it and it should be ok then.

Great first effort! If you have further questions or need additional help, I'm here.

Many thanks,

Philip
