Hi Ann
Am recording and it has failed checker because it is over an hour. I think it will be 1 hour 5-10 mins when finished. Checker says I need to contact you for advice. Perhaps you can advise what to do as it says it may not apply to some projects.
Many thanks

If it comes in under 70 minutes, you're fine. If it is too much more than that, if it stays under 75 minutes, I think it will be fine. We try to keep the sections to be less than a full CD, which come in around 79 minutes. If it is more than that, let me know. You can cut the recording in half and upload two sections, but let me know before you upload so that I can make a new section, and adjust the other sections already in.

Hi Ann
Thanks for that. It looks like it will be less than 70mins so should be fine. When doing checker it tells me its too long but would it also report other errors/faults at the same time or can I assume all is ok if it does not show any other problems.
Kind regards
Patrick

Good, so much easier when the story can be in one section, only because it is hard to decide where to cut the recording. (My part, making new sections, is easy!) To answer your question about Checker. Yes, if there is anything else "wrong" or not quite right, then Checker will tell you. So if Checker doesn't say anything other than that the time duration is one the long side, then you should be good to go. I will check it just to make sure, but go ahead and upload!

Hi Ann
Yes I can hear the knock but can you tell me what tool/effect to use to remove as a newbie am on a steep learning curve.
Thanks
PAtrick
There isn't an effect that you can use to fix it. You have to rerecord that sentence, or part of the sentence, then copy and paste it in that spot. Have you found Phil's videos on how to do basically everything when it come to recording and editing? Here is the link, http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Instructional_Videos , there is one video in the Help with Audacity section on how to cut out and replace a mistake.
