Would it be possible to do 29. The Chambered Nautilus by Oliver Wendell Holmes? I can get started as soon as I know the introductory message! I love what you're putting together here.

Hi Jenna and a big welcome to LibriVox! :D I have assigned that section to you but before you record it, please make and upload a 1 minute test to be sure your recording set up is OK. Instructions can be found in our Wiki and in the first post of this project but Here is a video that may help too: How to Make your 1 minute test.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BlaRY_-bcfs and then How to Upload your 1 minute test How to Upload your 1 minute test

(You may post the link to your test in this forum and I will see it much more quickly)

I also strongly recommend that you watch my award winning video Getting To Know our Forums Getting To Know Our Forums
(OK, no awards but it is still neat)

We just want to check out your technical specs. Don't forget to post the link either in this thread or in Listeners WAnted forum. And how would you like to be credited in our catalog? What name? most of us use our real name but it is up to you.

Thank you so much for allowing me to do this! Here is the link to my one minute test - viewtopic.php?f=21&t=65492
I purchased a mic I saw recommended on this site, so hopefully I can get everything to work out for me!

To be fair, I think your video should be award winning. You do a great job explaining everything! You can credit me as Jenna Mock (my real name) if that works for you! Thank you for all of your help! :D

You are very welcome Jena. Your test is fine and you have the official OK to record many things for us, starting with the poem you chose. I will make your catalog name as you requested.

PS I think perhaps there should be an Annual LibriVox Video Awards ceremony? Don't hesitate to ask if anything does not make sense.

Hi Jordan/Phil,

Can you please assign me 10 random poems? I like the surprise in a big volume such as this. I won't know what they are and how to read them until I see you have assigned them.
Regards,
Jason (back) in Canada

If that's what you want...

To make it truly random, I used Excel to generate 10 random numbers between 1 and 239 (if a number came up that was unavailable, I ignored it).

So, here's what you'll be reading:

61. RING OUT, WILD BELLS - by Alfred Tennyson
93. OPENING PARADISE - by Thomas Gray
158. ULTIMATE ACT - by Henry Bryan Binns
8. THE QUITTER - by Robert W. Service
221. THE LIFE WITHOUT PASSION - by William Shakespeare
147. THE HAPPY HEART - by Thomas Dekker
165. CLEON AND I - by Charles Mackay
160. SUCCESS - by Berton Braley
192. A SONG OF TO-MORROW - by Frank L. Stanton
76. ON BEING READY - by Grantland Rice

Great! I will start on these after I get home from the theatre tonight. I am acting in a play - if anyone is interested in reading about it:

http://anconguild.com/

It's an adaptation of the movie.

Wait, is this in any way related to the Groundhog Day musical from last year?

Also, huh, guess you really are 'in Panama'...

Hey Jason. I spent some quality time on Ancon Hill (and many other places) while fixing radio transmitters for the AF in the 60s. Great times. We lived in Panama City too and enjoyed that. Sing and dance your heart out and break a leg!!
