Hi Sanjay,

The re-upload was PL OK, the new recordings were PL OK, and I have assigned those poems to you.

See you tomorrow, I guess!

Hi Jordan,

Thanks! And apologies for not claiming the section first. I will do so in the future.

I have edited the file as indicated:

https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/itcanbedone_188_various_128kb.mp3 duration: 1:24

Is the background noise at an acceptable level now? I already did the Audacity noise reduction.

Best,
Kasper

Hi Kaspar,

The file type and the DC bias are now fixed.

However, the volume is too low now. You're now at 82.9 dB, way below what it should be.

Also, I don't think the noise is any better... Are you sure you followed the instructions correctly? You need to select some silence (the last 5 seconds is good), go to Effect/Noise Reduction, click Get Noise Profile. Then select the whole recording (CTRL + A), got the Noise Reduction again, set everything to 6 (though you might want to try other values if you don't think it sounds good), make sure it's Reduce, then click OK. That should clean up the noise.

Hi,

Yes, I followed the instructions, and amplified it by -3 as you indicated. I'll have another look tomorrow to get the volume slightly higher again and see if there's anything I can do about the noise.

If you did amplify by -3, then I have no idea how it ended up 10 dB quieter...

Tell you what, I'll update it for you this time (as I imagine you don't have the original file any more, and re-editing the same file again and again will make it lose quality).

Of course you can have 51 .. and as many more as you wish. Sorry for not catching that earlier. Enjoy!

EDIT: I tried to assign you but it says that there is no email address associated with y our user name. Is there a problem with that? In the meantime, just assume that poem is yours.

I think I've followed all the technical instruction this time around. If not, or if there's anything else amiss, please let me know.

Thanks,

Hi Kasper,

Apart from the fact that the file name should have 056 rather than just 56 (and Phil can change that, so there's no need to re-upload), it's PL OK!
