Hi lgrant,
There are lots of videos and tips about recording. Here is where you can find Phil's videos on how to do everything: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Instructional_Videos
and there is the wikipedia page: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording

This recording of Each Man Kills has technical issues. It is in stereo and needs to be in mono. It needs to have the bitrate 128kb. It needs noisecleaning. A run through the compressor would take down the peaks so that it is in the 89 db range. Lastly, it needs editing. You have to go through it and take out any repeats, stumbles, random noises. It is all very easy to do.
Please make these changes or take another crack at it.
I look forward to seeing it come together.
Have a good day!
Amy

Hi:

And another. I am going to keep going until I can at least get the file names right.

Operation Distress, by Lester del Rey
Text at:
https://www.gutenberg.org/files/51168/51168-h/51168-h.htm

Reading by Dale Grothmann
Time:
28:45
LV File:
https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/ssf058_distress_delray_dg_128kb.mp3

(look, no capitals, and no extra characters.)

This one is about a Mars flight.

Thank you for all your help and patience.

Hi Dale,
That's great. Keep them coming. The filename does look good on Operation Distress. I know the filename convention in the short story collections is pretty convoluted, but it is so the stories can be sent in without having to be assigned first. I will PL Operation Distress soon.
The Weirdest Word is PL OK. It does have a capital letter in the filename. Would you mind changing that and re-uploading it?
Thanks for these!
Amy :D

Hi:

Done. The new file is

https://librivox.org/uploads/alg1001/ssf058_weirdest_lafferty_dg_128kb.mp3

(Proper nouns are capitalized. Teachers have been beating that into my brain since fourth grade. Change is hard.)

Thanks
Dale

PS I hope someone is able to clean all the junk off the server. Otherwise, it will be filled with people's one minute tests and mislabeled uploades.

I had to change one word for modern sensibilities. You will see it in the PL.

Thanks

Hi Dan,
I will soon- maybe tonight it I have a chance. The policy is to read the racial slurs and the like to stay true to the text and the time it was written.
Thanks for the story,
Amy :)

Hi

I can change it very easily, but it's not really necessary to the story.
