Hi Larry,

Firstly, apologies for not responding sooner; I was on holiday from Saturday to Wednesday.

Anyway, both are PL OK!

That first one really reminds me of The Raven. Not in the content, but in the structure: four lines of trochaic tetrameter, with the first three having a feminine A rhyme, and the last being catalectic and having a masculine B rhyme.
Where the great dark hills of won-der,
Scarred with storm and cleft a-sun-der
By the strong sword of the thun-der,
Make a night on morn-ing's brow!
While I nod-ded, near-ly nap-ping,
Sud-den-ly there came a tap-ping,
As of some one gen-tly rap-ping,
Rap-ping at my cham-ber door.

Hi Nemo,

All are PL OK!

If you're curious as to what exactly 'Hy-Brasil' is, it's got nothing to do with Brazil, but is instead (according to Wikipedia) "a phantom island said to lie in the Atlantic Ocean west of Ireland. Irish myths described it as cloaked in mist except for one day every seven years, when it became visible but still could not be reached."

Hi Algy,

Sections 18 and 32 are PL OK, and the only thing I spotted in Section 5 is that at 0:50 'a dress' should be 'with dress'.

I'll leave it up to you if it needs correcting.

I've got to say, 'Peter the Piccaninny' is possible the most unintentionally offensive thing I've come across in a while...

Hi Kirby,

For some reason, I expected you to be male. Maybe it's because the only other Kirby I know of (besides the video game character) is Kirby Ferguson of 'Everything is a Remix'.

Anyway, there were no errors I could find (and it was well read as well!), but I do feel there is still a little too much noise (though it's much better than the original recording).

Using the Plot Spectrum tool on a section of silence, I see there is a large peak at 90 Hz.

So, if you select the whole recording, go to Effect/Notch Filter, then set Frequency to 90, and Q to, say, 5 (but feel free to try different figures yourself), it should remove a lot of the noise.

See this page for more information, and a more complicated, but better, solution.

(Actually, this is the first time I've properly looked into this, and I've discovered I've had a similar 49 Hz [i.e. European mains hum] peak in my recordings, so this is advice I'm going to be using myself!)
