    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/rockfrog00chee
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

I'll MC this for you Phillip.
There is no info on Cheever, Harriet A. (Harriet Anna) I could find.
I wonder if this is she. :hmm:

(I'll move the project to Short Works once you see this.)

David:

Welcome! This is the second work of Harriet Cheever's I have BC'd and you've already seen all the information that I have on her. It's also the second one in the Librivox catalog. (The other book, Lord Dolphin, was published in 1903).

The birth and death dates on the findagrave site certainly make it possible that that is her burial site, but as to probable???

I'll get the MW filled in so we can move forward.

Thank you for MC-ing this project and for setting up the MW.

Philip

David:

Further update--found a list of numerous published works with dates ranging from 1896-1906. All were published in Boston either by the same publisher as this work or by charitable organizations. In addition, the individual in the findagrave posting was born in Boston...so I'm thinking the probability that that is her is increasing. Will continue to dig.

Hi Phillip -

Well I finished my solo recording today so I thought I would give Chapter 1 a whirl tonight - here it is for your listening pleasure!

It is a bit muted as we have had a huge thunderstorm on Maui tonight and it was raining pretty hard. I have gotten the background noise down and the recording to 89 and it passes the checker so I hope it is okay!
