Section 11 Urbs and Rus

It is ironic that I recorded this from my rural, suburban home. We don't have any paved streets, just dusty roads. I had to close my window because of the noisy birds.

Section 22 is nicely read but there are a few technical problems that are easily fixed and then save the edited file and upload it again.
I use audacity to listen to your file and Checker to check the volume, kb. Hz and channel mode. If you used anything else, I can't help you with those, but you can open your file in audacity for the fixes.

1. Your file is stereo and should be mono. When you open the file and go to export it again, look at the bottom of the dialogue box for the CHANNEL MODE, check the button for force export to mono.
2. It is too loud. The highest decibel level should be 92 and yours is 93.5 . If you have your file open in audacity, chose EFFECT from the menu and then AMPLIFY. Put the number for amplification in the negative since you want to reduce the sound. I put in -2 and it reduced the sound so that it was validated in CHECKER.
I didn't hear any stutters or repeats, it was very smoothly read.
You might want to put a little more space between you and the mic if you can for future readings. Did you know that in audacity there is a lighter colored band running through the center of the track that gives you a visual cue as to how loud or soft you are?

Nice reading, fix the tech and re-upload.

Thank you, Aniroo, for your help!
Indeed, my grandkids visit is not conducive to PL :-). They are leaving this week though :-(, I will listen to everything then.
I have checked the tech. data for sec. 1 and 7 though, see viewtopic.php?p=1383582#p1383582

Indeed, excellent reading for Sec.1 and 7, Mattaghetti. Please fix the tech. issues outlined in viewtopic.php?p=1383582#p1383582, and they would be a resounding PL OK!

Sec.11 is also pleasure to listen, Aniroo. A couple of minor tech. points:
1. 6.5 sec. of silence at the end (5 desired).
2. The "_128kb" suffix is missing.
Both of them would be up to Lynne to forgive you or insist on fixes :-)

I would give you a pass on those (just because I'm in a good mood) -- 'about 5 seconds' isn't exact  ; and the _128kb can be added at cataloguing. If there were other edits, I'd ask you to fix these, but as there aren't, you're OK

Thank you, Mattaghetti,
Still, for both sec 1 and 7:
1. The recording should be in mono sound, not stereo sound.
Use Track > Stereo to Mono in Audacity.
2. The volume falls outside of the target range (86–92 dB).
Use Effects > Amplify, reduce by about 5 dB.
3. Over 6 sec. of silence at the end of each sec. There should be 5 seconds silence at the end of the recording.

(Assuming you are only fixing the technical settings, I did NOT listen again).

Any questions? Don't hesitate to ask!

I THINK (hope) this gets it. I tried to download Audacity but had some issues. I've been using Garageband and I think this should do the trick. If so, I'll fix the first, this one was just faster to do!

I don't see any difference, are you sure you uploaded the fixed track successfully?
Garageband should do the trick fine, however the LV wiki help usually is geared to Audacity, that gives her an edge.
