... and chapter 9 is uploading now.
Regarding chapter 9: It's got a hymn in it (as does 8, but I'm not as concerned about the one in 8). Please let me know if any of it sounds bad, or such that my discerning, possibly familiar-with-the-hymn audience would object to. I didn't know it, so I pulled up a version on YouTube. But it was sung in a higher key than I would have chosen.
Come to think of it, the one in 8 was also in a higher key than I would have cared for, but I think I pulled it off better than the one in 9. :p
Anyway, let me know what you think.

As per our off-board discussion about the songs, I've redone them both.
Chapter 8's is at about 15:24
Chapter 9's is at about 11:58
I took my previously-recorded songs and used the "Change pitch" effect on them, which made me sound really weird, but which gave me a guide to sing the new version in a lower key.

Chapter 11 uploading now. Chapters 12 and 13 are recorded; I have to edit them.
A chapter filled with name-dropping and technology of the day - a description of a new flying machine, etc. Oh, and the Loco-Focos, a political faction, is on Wikipedia, if you want to read about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Locofocos
In a later chapter, she mentions the year as being 1843, to give this a bit of historical context.
EDIT: 13 uploading now. I'm not sure why we need the detail of the dimensions of the church in Hawaii (the Sandwich Islands), but okay... and this leaves us on a bit of a cliffhanger.

Chapters 11 & 12 PL OK
Fun facts about the Loco-focos and an alround interesting chapter.
I had to laugh at the songs "kept singing themselves over and over" in his head. Yep, we can all relate to that one.
Since Chapter 13 leaves one hanging I'll wait for Chapter 14.

Well - sorta hanging. "What will Miranda do in the next minute?" is the question at the end of the chapter.

14 is up.
Yeah, that's pretty close to what I suspected Miranda would do!

Ohhhh, you're so good to me. I will look forward to this after I get dressed.
Yeah, it's noon and I'm not dressed yet. You're voice is going to be a real pick-me-up. Got some mail from the county regarding Mom yesterday that has me having to jump through hoops all over again. I THOUGHT things were going to settle down.
But, yeah, so glad to look forward to this!!!

Chapter 15 PL OK
There, that's better. Now I can wait patiently for more....
Yes, LOL on the hair raising.
BTW when you signed out of Chapter 14 there was a very slight humor in your voice. Did you know I wouldn't be satisfied with it ending there or did something else tickle you?

Yes, I know I ended it with a humorous tone. I was anticipating what Miranda might be up to!
