Section 2 coming at week's end! Working on two NT books at the same time, the other from the Weymouth translation, which is a bit easier to read.

Well, I spoke too soon....Section 2 is recorded, but still needs editing/mixing. I will also be switching to a new mic, so the next few sections should, hopefully, sound a lot better.

Runtime of 20:30, filesize of 18.7 MBs.....Forgive the sound quality--not so good, but with new mic, that should hopefully go away.

Volume is a tad high (93.8) and should be amplified by about -4, otherwise pl ok.
Sound quality seems pretty good to me.

Okay...adjusted by -4.5 according to Mp3Gain....should be good now. I just need to remind myself to use it with each file! I keep forgetting to Mp3Gain it!

Same runtime, same filesize.

2 PL OK.

There is another way (using Audacity) to determine volume level. Ignore the following if it seems too complicated.
Use the instructions below to install the plugin ReplayGain into Audacity.
- Click this link,
http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=4685
and save the file to your computer - somewhere you can find it.
- Then go to the folder in which Audacity is installed (on my computer, it's in C:\Program Files (x86)\Audacity) and open the Plug-Ins folder.
- Drag or copy the file you saved into the Plug-Ins folder.
- The next time you start up Audacity go to Effects/ReplayGain, and it'll tell you how much to amplify your file. If you highlight part of the file it will tell you how much to amplify just that part of the file. It does not give you the exact dB of the file but it can be inferred from how much it tells you to amplify.

Well, I tried to download it, but it doesn't work on my system. The good thing about Mp3Gain is that it was able to actually download and work on my system. Thank you for the suggestion, though!

Mark,

You can also take your volume setting on Auphonic one notch softer . . . that may avoid the need for an adjustment in MP3Gain altogether.

I'll give that a try with Section 4. In the meantime, Section 3 is ready for inspection:

I have made several attempts at uploading Section 4 (1 Corinthians 1-5), but the file URL doesn't show up on the uploader when I double-click on the file. I have contacted an admin, and am still awaiting an answer. I have posted about this in the error report thread, and some other posters have reported successful uploads. I am at a loss as to what's going on here.

I just found this file on the server. My computer died and I lost all of my bookmarks. Hence the delay in responding. I did notice an error in the url, it should be https. No idea whether this explains anything. MaryAnn can correct the url.

edit:
4 PL OK.

Section 4 is in the uploader. I'll watch it at catalog time to make sure it goes over to Archive OK. Not sure if that http/https makes any difference once it has uploaded or not . . .
