The sections on cicadae were fascinating. I'll always remember the doubly loud summer cicadae in Tokyo when two species came out the same year!

The beginning section on Japanese feminine names is so enlightening, and captures so much of the significance of names that is lost to the American mentality, I think. The discussion of Chinese characters and of the abundance of homonyms is also fascinating and something I observed so often, both in Japan and Korea, too, where meanings could be clarified only by knowing what characters are used. Those homophones were tricky! But, English also has more than we realize sometimes.

We are in the midst of a major blizzard here in New England. Very rarely does my workplace close, but this is one of those exceptional days -- white out now with heavy snow and swirling winds. But, that means I have extra time to edit these, and I may even be able to record that last section -- a huge one, coming in at 5,800 words! But I'm looking forward to it.

Well, not so much fun with the snow -- stuck cars, then power outage for nearly 24 hrs. So, instead of catching up, I've fallen further behind. On top of that, I last half of the edited version of the long Section 10!

We're safe and pushing ahead.

Well, settled down to record that last big chapter, and the trucks and loaders came to haul away some ot the mountains of snow. So, decided to bite the bullet and edit what I lost, only to find out that I hadn't lost as much as I thought, so finished it off easily. That is a lot of names!

Sections 8 and 9 both PL OK.

In Section 7, I noticed one (kinda funny) error:

16:55 - It seems you had some difficulty with the pronunciation here. You quickly utter, "Oh boy..." and then start trying to say each word phonetically.

Other than that, perfect. Truly great readings! I'll start listening to the rest later tonight.

Well, missed that edit, didn't I! You may find a few more as there were a lot of places where I struggled, and not always just with the Japanese.

I am about half way through my initial edit of Section 12. I have a few places already where I need to record some patches, and few other I think I can let ride. My Japanese is really rusty.

Here is that final long Section 12. I needed to go back and put in a few patches which will be obvious, but I hope not too dissonant. There are a few minor misses here and there, so if you think any of them need fixing, please let me know.
