Hi there. May I do:

17 - The Lark At The Diggings
34 - The Barefoot Boy
71 - Pontiac's Attempt To Capture Fort Detroit

Question as a newbie: when you say to give "chapter" number at the beginning and end, as book seems to be organized by pages rather than chapters, would I say for example "Chapter 17 of The Ontario Readers: Fourth Book..." for Lark At The Diggings?

Thank you,
Ellery

Thank you Ellery, you are down for those chapters. Yes, just follow the intro as set out in the opening post. The MW needs that oranization into chapters/sections.
In retrospect the intros should have read 'Section' rather than "Chapter' since there are no chapters in the book, but too late now.

Those new choices are in the MW Rosalind. :D

Rosalind
I have listened to these sections and also 5, 7 and 8.

Do you know how to check the volume of your recordings?
These are all too high, coming in over 92 dB.
The LV target is 89dB with a range of 86-93.
So, please bring these down closer to that target and resubmit
You might want to check any others before you submit them.

I use the special Checker program that you can find on the LV site. It also checks the other specs.

Hi,

thanks for the feedback. I thought these latest recordings seemed loud but I had no issues with other recent recordings. Unfortunately, I have been unable to install the Checker program nor the suggested MP3 Gain program (after much troubleshooting, I don't know what the problem is!). So if you have any advice, I would appreciate it. For sure I can change the volume but I have no way to check before submitting.

Thanking you in advance,
Rosalind

Hi again,

just as a sample, here is an adjusted volume...what volume does this one measure?

Thanks,

Too far the other way - 85.5dB the original was 92.7
If you're using Audacity, I would set the amplification for -3.0 for all of those files. That should bring them down within range. If you need to amplify this one, then +3.5 should be good.

Checker is a simple stand-alone program, so it should be easy to install. ReplayGain is a plug-in for Audacity, so is a bit trickier. I did it once and glad I don't have to do it again. Sorry I can't offer better tech assistance.

Thanks for your efforts.

Thanks for the tips,

I am sending Section 001 again, after following your suggestion:
https://librivox.org/uploads/aradlaw/ontarioreaders_001_various_128kb.mp3

and re-submitting Section 002:
https://librivox.org/uploads/aradlaw/ontarioreaders_002_various_128kb.mp3

If you could kindly check these two, I will work on the others that I have submitted.

Much appreciated,
Rosalind
