Thanks, Sarah! Just a couple of technical issues to take care of before I put this in the MW.
First, the name format for this volume requires three digits because we have over 100 sections. So, please rename this file, poetryofsouthafrica_075_wilmot_128kb.mp3 when you upload it again.
Second, we require 5 seconds of silence at the end an you have left just 2.
Just make these corrections, upload the file again, post the link and file length here in the forum.
Just as a note -- there is quite a bit of distortion to the recording that is probably the result of excessive post-recording correction -- noise cleaning or amplification. No need to change anything on this recording, but something to keep in mind for future recordings.
Thanks so much for reading.
Thanks for the info, I will have that fixed and posted by tomorrow!
If you poke around on the controls for your microphone, it may have a noise cancellation feature. That's great when you are doing a Skype call, but not so good when you are recording an audiobook. If you find something like that, you want to turn it off. You'll get a bit of background noise when you record, but Audacity has very good tools for cleaning out the noise which don't damage the sound quality in the way auto noise cancellation on a mic will.
