[COMPLETE] Why do we need a public library? by Various -ans
Thank you Katrine!
If you still need help with the French Bovary - maybe reach out to Kitty? She speaks some 500 languages and may have time for a quick listen here.

Anne, I'm doing the last section (27) which I've split in two. Part 1 is a long prologue by the author to Part 2, which is an escalating correspondence between he and an angry library patron.
This would really make a great theater piece as a duet between Sirs Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi!

I have a quick question.
I'm cleaning up my recording of #26, The Immigrant in the Library by Mary Antin. It's a transcript of a speech she held at a meeting of the American Library Association. At the very end of the speech, there's the following text which is visually part of the "section," but I wonder whether I should remove this, as it is not part of Ms. Antin's speech. Should I leave it in, or take it out? Thanks
The FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT: I shall ask you to rise as an expression of thanks and appreciation of Miss Antin's address. (The audience remained standing for a moment.)
The next speaker will discuss the subject of immigrants as contributors to library progress. It gives me very great pleasure to introduce to you Mrs. ADELAIDE B. MALTBY, who is in charge of the Tompkins Square branch, on the lower East Side, of the New York public library.

Took me 8 months to submit this, holy moly. That's almost full-term Thanks for allowing me so much time to work on my section.
kathrinee: I seem to be having intermittent problems with my (new/refurbished) mic. It produces some strange clicking/crackling sound, but not all the time. Not sure what the problem is, perhaps something to do with the cord/connection? Anyway... I did my best to clean up the extra sounds in the recording. I hope it's good the way it is... I honestly don't have the time to re-record the entire file.
Thank you all for your work on this project I'm honored to be a part of it

ok I finished listening to section 11 Madame Bovary. There are no textual errors whatsoever.
But at the end of the recording there are 5 minutes of silence instead of only 5 seconds. Once these are cut down, the section can be marked PL ok.
Hope I was of help
now I need some rest, it's past 2 a.m. here...
good night
