Hi there and welcome to LV and to this project!

This chapter is all yours - but to enter you into the database, I'll need the name under which you want to be listed in our catalog. This can be your forum name, but if you say another name in your recordings, it might be wise to use this one so your fans can find you in the catalog.

I see that you are brand new, so before reading this section, do our quick 1-Minute Test and post it over in "Listeners Wanted". It's not an audition for you, but for your equipment, so we can check that everything is working as it should. You'll find details about the test in your welcome email or in the LibriVox wiki.

Have fun on here!
Cheers, Ava.

I can't see your test anywhere. You must take the link you get after uploading and post it in a new post over in "Listeners and Editors Wanted".

You need to do this for the files you're recording as well - we do not know when something has arrived, unless you tell us. :D

Hi,
Is there any way to remove background noise from the recording?

There was a mention about noise cleaning in your test thread here:
viewtopic.php?p=1435022#p1435022

If you don't feel confident you're getting it right, maybe post a part of your recording there and people will have a look at it again.

So you managed with noise cleaning - great!

Please always post the length of your recording - I'll eventually need this for cataloging.

Thanks!
Cheers, Ava.

Hi,
This whole recording is not as easy as I thought. I really appreciate all volunteers here. I took a lot of recordings to finally get one right one. Still, somewhere in that, there is a change in tone. Even 500 words is too much for me :|

Yes, it does take quite a bit to produce a good recording - as long as you're happy with it, it'll be fine.

In the beginning, the learning curve is quite steep, but once you are more comfortable with it, recording is quite easy and a really rewarding hobby. An admin colleage on here once had in his signature: "A child who learns to walk and falls down 50 times NEVER thinks to herself 'Maybe this isn't for me'"....

The nice thing about recording - in contrast to reading live - is that you can cut out all your mistakes! Nobody will ever know that you're not perfect  (nobody on here is!)

Thanks for length of your recording. Our DPL will be with you shortly, listen to your recording and give you comments and/or advice.
Cheers, Ava.

This is very well read!

The only issue with it is that there needs to be 5 seconds of silence on the end, so if you could please add that and then resubmit it, all will be well!
