I love to read, AND my employer matches my volunteer hours with a donation to the Internet Archive, flagged to benefit Librivox.org. How cool is that?

Thanks, Beth! I am enjoying this story - it's lively and fun, but sooooo much dialogue...

Since my job has settled down quite a bit now, I'd like to volunteer to read another chapter, Chapter 14: Good-Bye. This one has the advantage of being quite a bit shorter than the other chapter that I (eventually) did for this book.

Hi corncake and welcome to the project! I'm happy to hold that section for you, but you need to do a 1 minute test to check your technical settings. The instructions are in the welcome email and the Introductions forum. Please make sure you post it to the Listeners forum (not here) where the technical people can check it! When everything is OK, then come back here and record.

Let me know if you get stuck!

Hey there.

Thanks for holding this section for me. I just submitted my 1 minute test and posted it in the "Listeners & Editors Wanted" forum.

How will I know when it is approved and I'm OK to start recording the section?

Someone will post on the thread of your test with comments. Please wait for those before recording for this project - it doesn't usually take long.

Actually, someone has given you feedback already - make sure you are subscribed to the thread to get notifications. Repost the updated test in the same thread and I think you will be done!
