IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Hi MaryAnn, I'm seeking your advice about chapter headings for this project. As you see from below, what I propose are a bit long. Because these pieces are so short, I didn't want to make separate files out of them, figuring our librivox opening would be very annoying. So I collected the pieces into about 25-30 minute sections. I would like to indicate the titles of the pieces in the section names (as below). Are these too long? If so, could we put them into the work description, which would make that a bit long, too? Thanks for your help.

The Madman, Part 1: Introduction; God; My Friend; The Scarecrow; The Sleep-Walkers; The Wise Dog; The Two Hermits; On Giving And Taking; The Seven Selves; War; The Fox; The Wise King; Ambition; The New Pleasure; The Other Language; The Pomegranate; The Two Cages; The Three Ants; The Grave Digger; On The Steps Of The Temple; The Blessed City.

The Madman, Part 2: The Good God and The Evil God; Defeat; Night and The Madman; Faces; The Greater Sea; Crucified; The Astronomer; The Great Longing; Said A Blade Of Grass; The Eye; The Two Learned Men; When My Sorrow Was Born; And When My Joy Was Born; ‘The Perfect World’.

The Forerunner, Part 1: Introduction; God’s Fool; Love; The King-Hermit; The Lion’s Daughter; Tyranny; The Saint; The Plutocrat; The Greater Self; War And The Small Nations; Critics; Poets; The Weather-Cock; The King Of Aradus; Out Of My Deeper Heart.

The Forerunner, Part 2: Dynasties; Knowledge And Half-Knowledge; ‘Said A Sheet Of Snow-White Paper…’; The Scholar And The Poet; Values; Other Seas; Repentance; The Dying Man And The Vulture; Beyond My Solitude; The Last Watch.

David,

There's no problem putting them into the LV catalog summary (the text you put in the first post).

You can put them in the MW and see what happens . . . I think they get cut off at some point, but that varies on the location. I think it will show up in its entirety on the catalog page, but they will get cut off on the "title" for the metadata on the file itself.

I do like the idea of grouping them so as to reduce the number of sections and the number of disclaimers.
