Before I post Chapter 2, just wanted to let you know I found a few OCR errors in the Gutenberg text. (This has happened with other texts, not a big deal.) I noticed there are two versions of Little Men on Gutenberg, one of which seems to have had the errors fixed (http://www.gutenberg.org/files/52900/52900-h/52900-h.htm), so I'll save that to refer to if needed. I also have the hard copy of the book, so I'm double-checking to make sure whatever I find is also in the original publication.

I don't think I need to list all the errors (most of them are, for example, "here" instead of "her" or "like" instead of "liked" - little things like that). However, others are actually missing words (for example, "tried to pick his out" is missing the word "eyes" - very important in the context of Tommy Bangs' harrassment of the poor chickens! ;-) ). So if you like, I'll post those as I upload each chapter.

Here's Chapter 2 Narrator:

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/littlemen_02_narrator.mp3 18 min 33.536 sec / 17.40 KB

Text errors fixed, in bold:
p 1 of MW: paragraph starts "Emil": "He would dance nothing but sailors' hornpipes, rolled in his gait, and was as nautical in conversation as his uncle would permit."

p 2 of MW: paragraph starts "Daisy": "She liked to quiddle about..."

p 4 of MW: paragraph starts "Billy Ward": "... giving him all sorts of hard lessons, keeping him at his books six hours a day, ..."

p 5 of MW: paragraph starts "The first day he came": "was chased by an angry hen who tried to pick his eyes out because he examined her chickens, got run away with, and had his ears boxed violently by Asia."
(same paragraph, last line): "he got on pretty well out of school."

p 5 of MW: paragraph starts "He wound fat Asia": and left her there to fume."

That's it! :-)

Oh, my goodness! Leave it to me to use the goofed up version! Well, thanks for informing me on this, Christine! And apologies to everyone for all the mistakes. FYI, if you see a sentence that looks like it's missing a word or letter, it probably is.

Aw, no worries! I just happen to be working as a transcriber & proofreader right now (in "real life"), so I tend to notice these "little things" more than I might otherwise! :D

Decided to skip ahead and do 21, the last chapter (Narrator):

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/littlemen_21_narrator.mp3 30 min 24.972 sec / 28.52 KB

Only one OCR error found. P 2 of MW, "said Silas, who had been in on the secret," s/b "and Silas, who had been let in on the secret,". 8-)

Break time! :D

Here are fixed Bess chapters:
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/littlemen_09_besslaurence.mp3 (line is new at the end. I think it was supposed to be 'blue kite'.)
https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/littlemen_13_besslaurence.mp3 (fixed line at about 0:07.)
Thanks! :D
