Rainbow Gold: Poems Old and New Selected for Boys and Girls.

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:

https://librivox.org/rainbow-gold-poems-old-and-new-selected-for-boys-and-girls-by-various/

Quote:
This collection of poems, selected by Sara Teasdale, a talented poet in her own right, is made to appeal to children, both girls and boys. They are not poems about children, but for children. Neither does this mean that they are childish, but rather that they capture the imagination of children both in subject matter and the richness of the lyrical language of the poems themselves. They range through the great classical poets from Milton to Poe, in all of their variety and vigor. What child could not be captivated by Blake’s, The Tiger, or enchanted by Lanier’s Song of the Chattahoochee? Here in these verses, we all are children. -summary by Larry Wilson

    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): https://archive.org/details/rainbowgoldpoems00teas
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Silverquill will be DPL.

Note to MC - I have left out the author when filling out the form, I assumed I could just add authors for each section in the meta data. If you would rather have the author put as Various, that would be fine too. :) For the filenames I've left it as various.

ETA - I had originally launched this before the forum reset, but I didn't have an MC, so I don't know whether this counts as a relaunch. :)

I can MC for you, but I may not have time to add the MW until this evening.

OK MW is ready for titles. You can use the short disclaimer for this project if you wish. Just edit the top post and replace the standard intro/outro text with the following

Code:
[b]START of recording (Intro)[/b][list][*][i]["Section [number] of  Rainbow Gold: Poems Old and New, selected by Sara Teasdale. Recorded for LibriVox.org by [your name]" (If you do not wish to say your name in the recording, you can just say "Recorded for LibriVox.org")[/i]
 [*] Say:
[i] "[Title of Section/Poem, by Author]"  [/i] [/list]

[b]END of recording [/b][list][*]At the end of the section, say:
[i]"End of Section [number].  This recording is in the public domain"[/i]

Thanks, Jo. :)
I think the Short disclaimer will work well for this project.

Jo, I miscounted when I counted the sections for the MW. Could you please delete the last two?

Kangaroo

ETA - I've assigned Silverquill sections 01, 28, 59, and 63 (which he had requested before the forum was reset) and I've assigned myself 06, 08, 11, 21, 31, 36, 38, 42, and 51-52.

Extra sections deleted. We're still looking for DPL, right?

Silverquill volunteered via PM to be DPL. I'll PM him the project link.
