Please make sure to complete your 1 minute test before recording, and let me know what you would like as your catalog name (shows up in the catalog along with your username). It can be your real name, username, a pseudonym, or whatever you want. I can also link to a website. :)

I suggest that you look in the other projects you requested sections in, please respond to the replies in those threads.

Welcome to LV, and I hope you have fun here!

That would be great!

My apologies for bringing it up again, but I just wanted to ask if I was required to submit a work that was already in hard-copy print form in order to record it. My confusion was based on your acceptance of my reading of the CPDV, which is not in hard-copy format. Just want to make sure I have the rules straight and eliminate any confusion. Thank you again!

Mark,

Sorry for not looping back to you sooner on this.

In discussing with the other admins, there are a lot of reasons why we want to stay with traditionally published works for clarity around public domain. For one thing, a pdf of a published book can't be changed - while some of the newer PD scripture translations are subject to ongoing updates, and a copyright could be asserted on those versions at any time, if the publisher changes their mind . . . so then do we have proof that our recording is from a PD version of the work? Or a later edition where copyright is asserted? And what if they don't really understand pd vs copyright and try to assert a copyright after releasing it into the PD? It's not a mess today, but given our budget of 0 for copyright advice, we want to keep things as simple as possible and avoid potential future messes.

So, going forward, let's stick with scans of translations published before 1923. Anything already in is 'grandfathered' because I didn't catch the issue before it was accepted.

Does this include the World English Bible? (which already has 11 projects completed?)

Then, I would like to submit a reading of Matthew, Chapter 25, from Jonathan Morgan's translation of the New Testament, published 1848.

Thank you Mark, I've added that for you. Also, I've uploaded Numbers 6:22-27 (KJV) for username "GrandmaFred". She hasn't completed a 1 minute test because she is using my recording setup. That is now Ready for PL.

Thanks for reading the blessing I hear in Church GrandmaFred.

Well read. The only error was that you left the translation out at the beginning and the end.

Great job Joshua :D Just a few things though.

Joshua your recordings are not in the correct format. You must go to the first page of this project and use the uploader for your files.

7. SUBMIT your recording:
Please upload your finished recording using the LibriVox uploader (when your upload is complete, you will receive a link - please copy to post in this thread):

You'll need to select the MC, which for this project is: maryannspiegel.

-------------------------

Please read number 7 and resubmit your recordings. Thanks.

You also have sound at the beginning of the recording and a very long lead. The lead should be less than one second.

I'm not sure what you mean by lead but, I'm guessing that the beginning part. I went ahead and cut out most of the first parts now So that there is only 1 second right before I talk.
