This project is complete. All associated files can be found on the catalog page: http://librivox.org/an-eye-for-an-eye-by-anthony-trollope/

An Eye for an Eye by Anthony Trollope (1815 - 1882).
A short but typical Trollope romance in which a young nobleman is torn between love for an impoverished Irish girl and the expectations of his family that he will marry someone suitable for inheriting an Earldom ( Anthony Ogus)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/16804
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

OK, all set again. I had two projects that started within a couple of days of each other, and I don't remember who signed up to PL which. Was it libraryanne or craigdav who signed up for this one?

The file you uploaded yesterday is still there (https://librivox.org/uploads/gypsygirl/eyeforaneye_03_trollope.mp3), but the previous ones will need to be reuploaded.

Thanks, Karen. I'm downloading the new chapter now and I'll have it PL'ed by tomorrow. :)

Cheers,

Edit! I had time to PL it right now and it's PL OK! :)

Thanks, Betty. Sorry to have confused your real name with your nom de plume.

This is principally to alert you to the fact that I shall be slowing down in the recording. We are preparing to move house and that leaves little time for other things.

Best wishes

HI,
Chapter 4 is PL OK!

I had to chuckle a bit in that chapter; she abhors slang? Oh my, she would be horrified at the language in use nowadays.

Chapter 5 posted.

Well, everyone is on tenterhooks today. I know you do not want me to engage in political conversation, so let me just say that I hope that we will both be satisfied with the outcome.

Hi,
Chapter 5 is PL OK!

Very well read. There was much character study in that chapter.

And the less said about that election yesterday the better :!:

Agreed! I feel the need to ignore what is going on in the world as well.

Chapter 6 posted. Have had to supply an Irish accent for the priest. By coincidence we were in Ireland a week ago (for an opera festival) and the trip helped a lot!

Hi,
Chapter 6 is PL OK!

Wonderfully read. I like hearing different accents and your Irish part sounded tops. :)

Well, I'm pleased that you are pleased! I hope that I have done as good a job with chapter 7 now posted.

Incidentally I had difficulty in understanding the 4th sentence (beginning "He regarded a stranger ...) in this chapter. If you think that the syntax requires a different emphasis, please say so.

Hi,
Chapter 7 is PL OK.
I think you read that sentence you referred to just right. You took your time, paused in the right places and that helps a great deal with overly long sentences. :)
