Hey thanks Jordan
I found I do definately enjoy messin around with the editing..
Try this for size

It was bloomin hard to match the background noise asnd mains hum, but I think I got it close..
might have to ditch the headset and get a proper mike...

PL OK!

Oh, and for future reference, you have to keep the file name the same if you post a new version. I believe Carolin can change it without you needing to re-upload it, though.

You should also post the length, even if it hasn't changed, so that we know that the Magic Window has the correct time in it.

Hello Carolin,
Fixing my errors when informed is not a bad thing to me as I do not wish to do a "partial" job of recording. I appreciate your kind words though, it does mean a lot.

I did fix errors on section 51 first, record & than I did run replay gain. It shows me that I should amplify the file by 2.3 since the volume is only 84.5- now what? :hmm:

I will await reply before posting this section.

hi april, im not sure i understand correctly.

did the volume go down after you made the corrections? that can happen, but do double check that your corrections are the same volume as the original text, or else the change will be the more obvious.

what i do when i have to paste things in later, is to listen to my original file, repeat the sentence until i think it sounds more or less like what i sounded like before, and then i record the same sentence a few times. then i noiseclean and amplify as i would with all other recordings, and then i cut and paste.

there are different ways to make such corrections, just try out what works best for you, and let me know if there is anything i can help you with :)

Carolin,
You typed the following:

"what i do when i have to paste things in later, is to listen to my original file, repeat the sentence until i think it sounds more or less like what i sounded like before, and then i record the same sentence a few times. then i noiseclean and amplify as i would with all other recordings, and then i cut and paste."

I suppose that noise cleaning and amplifying before cutting and pasting is a good plan. I will attempt that before posting the file again.
Thank you!!

Section 53 is now PL OK!

However, at 4:14 of Section 51, your recording of 'shocked' is still cut short, and sound like 'sha'.

Also, the volume has ended up at 84.5 dB, when it needs to be at least 86 dB. Due to a couple of loud sections, pure amplification won't work. I think the best thing to do is run Leveller (http://manual.audacityteam.org/man/leveler.html, http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Levelling).

Jordan,
I will ensure that shocked is done correctly and I will repost it a bit later today.
