Annise,
I've heard from Gill; she's fine. Just a little interference from real life.

Sorry for the delay! Didn't realise it had been so long.

PL for Section 88:

00:37 loud-ish sniff after "(see the account of the coster boys and girls)" top of p479, Col. 2,, line 3
23:18 missing “I can’t read or write” before “I wish I could.” Page 482 column 2 towards end of boy’s statement at halfway point.

[30:40 "ran" said for "run" in “If a boy run away…” – followed by “the parent often feels compunction”, so it should be conditional, but up to you if you think it should be changed or not. Page 483 col 2, 2nd paragraph of “OF TWO RUNAWAY STREET-BOYS”]

37:55 “triff traffic” inserted after “and had engaged a poor lad to ‘elp him” p484 Col. 2, 20 lines from bottom

Thanks, Gill; Section 88 edited and uploaded. I've made all the changes you suggest.

Apologies for the sniff!

PL for Section 89:

1:04 missing “100 sellers of tin-ware” before “100 swag-barrowmen” in 2nd paragraph of section (p485) [You might be able to cut and paste from the detailed account around 5:30.]

2:04 “20” said for “200 (sellers of Lucifer matches)” a little further on.
[4:28 “street” missing in “Blind street-sellers of Tailors’ Needles” p485 Col 2, 4th item listed. You could paste it in from 15:58.]

9:47 “At 1s 6d each” said for “at 1s each” for Street Sellers of plating balls, 4th entry of p486 Col2.

[11:36 little bang at end of “tobacco” - could past from 31:42]

20:04 “300” said for “380 (vendors of crockery and glass-wares” page 488 Col1, 4th entry

That's a pity about Audible.

Section 89 edited and re-uploaded ... and thanks again, Gill. It was a pleasure to work with you ... a fellow word-perfect-er

It would have taken a lot of work to get the files rechecked for Audible; I had gone through twenty or so sections before I thought to look at Audible (I was actually looking to see whether someone had already diverted one of your recordings to their own name ... but they haven't yet). I think the volume one recordings are going for £38.

The journey to the catalogue has begun - but could take some time, every step takes longer with more files ....

Thanks, Anne; it'll be interesting to see how many downloads we get.

I'm glad to be done. It must have been one of the longest-running projects on the forum. For a rest, I've started on a nice, simple, short book on oriental gardening.

It's arrived at Archive without any hitches (fingers and toes crossed)
I'm just waiting for it to finish deriving all the files

Well we are there. I've added some coding to the summary hopefully to get it looking the way you wanted - please check it all and let me know anything you would like changed. As soon as I have made the M4B file I am planning to put it on a spare iPod I have so I can listen to a section or 2 , pause and inwardly digest the contents then proceed

This project is now complete! All audio files can be found on our catalogue page https://librivox.org/london-labour-and-the-london-poor-volume-i-by-henry-mayhew/

Congratulations to both of you, both for the reading and the proof listening - a fantastic bit of teamwork

The summary looks perfect. Just one possible change: you were going to include Diana as proof-listener, as well as Gill.

We worked well together. Thanks for your work, Anne.

I hope you enjoy it ... do remember to miss out the sections which just consist of tables of data.
