I enjoyed your pacing and the tone of your voice. Thank you for your work.

1:29 Is the kindhearted man distressed by the sight of misery?
I hear might

2:01 it is invariably referable to the one generic cause - want of congruity between the faculties and their spheres of action.
I hear one

2:06 missing text - Equally true is it that evil perpetually tend to disappear. In virtue of an essential principle of life, this non-adaptation of an organism to its conditions is ever being rectified; and modification of one or both,...

2:25 missing text - We see it illustrated in the acclimatization of plants, in the altered habits of domesticated animals, in the varying characteristics of our own race

2:33 ...the Siberian herbs and shrubs spring up
I here Viberian

3:35 ...acquires the power of long fasting if his mode of life is irregular,
I hear fastening

6:50 repeat - and again when they discuss the probably influence

7:00 repeat - and again when they recommend practice

8:00 If the first is true, then all schemes of education, of government, of social reform-
I hear edahcation

8:17 repeat - then the way to make

9:15 In what respect are they not so adapted?
Read as - So, in what are they not adapted? (misplaced "so")

10:38 ...the jealousies of caste, and the scandal of drawing-rooms, have their causes comprehended under this generalization.
I hear drive-rooms

11:02 repeat and will continue Should be the second version. Will long continue

11:37 The inference that as advancement has been hitherto the rule,
I hear interference

13:53 it is inferred that they will continue to do so.
I here interfered

15:16 as surely as a clerk acquires rapidity in writing and calculation
I hear rapidy

15:22 missing text - as surely as the musician learns to detect an error of a semitone amidst what seems to others a very babel of sounds

15:38 as surely as there is any efficacy in educational culture, or any meaning in such terms as habit, custom, practice
I hear efficiency

15:55 so surely must the things we call evil and immorality disappear
I hear immortality

There should be 5 seconds of silence at the end of the recording. Please increase silence.

Please note you are at the very low end of our volume range at 86.2dB. We aim for 89dB with a range of 86-92dB. Please be careful you don't fall any lower.

Thank you, Thomas. I put your section in for PL. Unless someone stops by to help with PL it's probably going to take me a couple of days.

Thomas,
Well, if you are going to work this hard for the project today it seems wrong not to set aside some time to PL for you. Thank you for your efforts!

Section 31 is PL OK.

Essentially you read word perfect. I did notice one word change so I'll list it here for you. It's not necessary to change it unless you want to. I don't think the change impact meaning much . I only point it out since you were word perfect with this exception.

22:58 …we do but call to mind solitary samples of the treatment commonly received by subjugated races from so-called Christian nations.
Read as examples

Hi Thomas,
The content of section 34 is PL OK however you have picked up a hum in the background. You might want to give the notch filter a try. Here is a video for more information on that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iz4QvQXkPPI&feature=youtu.be

I cleaned it up with these settings: Noise reduction 10dB, Sensitivity 6, Smoothing 6

Section 34 (23:31)

It's almost silent between words now, but I can still hear it faintly while I'm speaking. Any tips?

Hi Thomas,
Yes, it is still there but much better. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I haven't experienced this so I'm not certain how to fix it. I suggest posting a minute or two of it in Listener's Wanted. I'm certain someone there will be able to assist.

Thank you for your help on this project. Please let me know if you would like to claim any other sections. If not, I hope to hear you again soon on another project.

Hi Linny

Sorry it took so long to finally get this edited . . . the first of the year was a busy one . . .

Here, the edited chapters:

Chapter 18 (25:04):
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/socialstatics_18_spencer_128kb.mp3

Chapter 19 (24:56):
https://librivox.org/uploads/knotyouraveragejo/socialstatics_19_spencer_128kb.mp3

As you may recall, this had to do with the Chapter Intro's . . . oh, man, I REALLY misunderstood the 'or' . . . but oh well, we have it now . . .

Thanks
