Thank you for asking. In these short story collections, you get to select your own short story. You need to make sure it is PD, and it must be less than about an hour long. You can submit as many stories as you like to a collection - and it is OK if you pick a story that has previously been recorded. We just don't have the same story more than once in any one collection - so if that happens we just hold on to it for the next collection!

A good place to search for short stories is projectgutenberg.org - just type in "short stories" into your search: http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/search/?query=short+stories&go=Go
You can select any you like for this collection - but you may also consider submitting to another collection: there is usually a sci-fi and children's collection ongoing.
Just be sure to give me the infor I need:
Name of your story
Author (birth year - death year)
Translator if applicable (birth year - death year)
Source from which you read (e.g. Gutenberg etext url)
Length in mm:ss and size in MB of your file
If this is your first Librivox recording, I will also need your name as you would like it to appear on the catalogue page and the URL of your homepage if you have one and would like it linked to your name on the catalogue page.

I look forward to receiving your contribution!

A very somber start to Vol. 65, i'm afraid:

https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/shortstory065_suicides_lar_128kb.mp3

Name of story: Suicides
Author: Guy de Maupassant (b. 1850 - d. 1893)
Translator: Albert M.C. McMaster BA, A.E. Henderson BA, Mme. Quesada & Others
Source text: http://www.gutenberg.org/files/3087/3087-h/3087-h.htm
Track length: 12:21.64
Track size: 11.59kb

i could only find this story in the collection of 13 volumes of Maupassant short stories, and the translators weren't given credit for individual stories, so i'm assuming translator info above isn't going to be useful...

Thanks,
~Lis.

Please let me know if this is an appropriate addition. This is a recording I made for The Upward Path (viewtopic.php?f=16&t=60867) that I never used. Tell me if I need to make any changes. Thanks.

Thank you... Would this be better in the children's short story collection?

I wasn't sure. Thanks for the suggestion. I certainly can copy this recording over there and you can delete this one if you think that's best.

It's up to you... I'm not sure what Ruth's criteria is, but as far as I'm concerned, it's your choice. I'll leave it there for now, but let me know if you'd rather move it. Maybe Kathrine will have an opinion when she PLs. (Ruth is taking some time off due to family issues)

The Dog and the Clever.. would fit nicely into the children's collection :) I think I would recommend moving it there. I have listened to it, the only thing it needs (for being part of either collection) is the intro/outro appropriate for that collection. Everything else is great! Nice to hear you again, Michael
