Yes, Iracus! That would be wonderful!! Yes, just know that he's somewhat of a major character, but I don't think he's particularly chatty. ;)

What would you like your catalog name to be? That's the part where you say, "Mr. John Meredith, read by..." It can be your real name, your forum name, or something different. Just know that it can't be changed because that's what gets read into the audio file. Also, if you want a link to a personal website or blog to be included on your catalog page, just let us know.

And if you have ANY questions, just ask! I know how confusing it is starting out! Well, it was for me, anyway.

Just click on the appropriate chapter text links to find your lines. When you're recording, please leave about 3-5 seconds of silence in between lines -- it makes final editing easier. Also, please remember to upload only one file per chapter.

Thank you!! :D

Thanks Twinkle!

Use Mark Crowle-Groves as a full name -

I'm reading through some of his lines and the pre and post paragraphs now to try and get a good feel for how to play him

Yes, that would be great!! Thank you! Just know that he's supposed to be 12 years old (--if you'd rather read a role for an adult, I understand).

~~Asking for anyone's opinion~~

I'm still kinda new here, and was wondering if anyone thinks it's a good idea or a bad idea for Edgard (jooell) to increase the pitch of his recordings a little bit with Audacity to sound more like a boy, since he's an adult. Would this improve the quality of the story, or would it just sound mechanical and it'd be better if we just used his natural voice? Has anyone tried this before? (Either way, I'd prefer to have a male person read for this role rather than a female person.) Any thoughts, anyone?

I would avoid digital alteration - if you want a "young boy" sound you would be better to get a female reader. (I think this is what most of us do - check out the "5 Children and It" project. All the children are read by women of various ages. IMO this is much better than trying to pitch up an adult male voice - that always ends up sounding like a mouse!)

I agree. I would also lean toward a woman reading the part if you really really want the voice to sound young, or using his voice as is, with no alteration because gender neutral casting implies age neutral as well. I would ask him to digitally alter his voice to make him sound young.
