I'll happily record chapter 6, "Goth"

It'll be my first chapter recording.

hi paddy, thanks for volunteering, but as you can see in the magic window, this section is already claimed by someone else. there are plenty of other projects in which you can participate however :)

Wow, the magic window had it as free when I put in the post.

As a newbee, I have been educated here.

Don't start recording til your name is in the magic window.

Haha, the joke's on me - I've recorded half of it.

Good learning experience - I shan't so that again.

hi pad,

im not the bc, but: the magic window can be tricky, or better the view is sometimes like magic...
some cache and cookies, some fast overview and there you have it, something went wrong.
(this section was claimed by akasha on the 13th of may.
so, im feeling sorry for your work..)

but please, dont get frustrated - see it as an additional challenge and just keep reading!
:-)

Thanks @schrm!

I tried really hard to get rid of the dog barks so it took me a while and I still couldn't manage, but I learned a lot in the process.

morning,

to be honest, i was wondering how you did that?
did you amplify down the silence between the words?
(sometimes, it is less work, to rerecord a sentence or paragraph and cut it in. but that is something, i failed miserably several times, as the sound changes. but even that gets better with experience, as i realized)

great work!

@caroline: perfect idea to add it to the collection! wish i had thought of it!

Hi angela, thank you for that section. One little thing, how long is the recording? Please remember to always post the duration of a recording when you post a link so that i can update the magic window :) thank you!

It was hard! But yeah, I did that for the parts where the barks could be separated from my voice. I also selected one bit of only barks and introduced it as noise profile and it also took it down a bit. I didn't want to record the sentences again because they sounded so different and obviously edited, but yeah, I guess it will get better with experience and I did learn a lot about sound editing :D
