Celebrated Crimes, Vol. 7: Part 2: Countess de Saint-Geran by Alexandre Dumas (1802 - 1870). Translated by George Burnham Ives (1856 - 1930)

All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/celebrated-crimes-vol-7-part-2-countess-de-saint-geran-by-alexandre-dumas/

This story details the crimes and trial surrounding the unexpected pregnancy and subsequent childbirth of the Countess de Saint-Geran in 1640s France. Familial jealousies harbored by her sister-in-law, the Marchioness de Bouille, intertwine with the greedy schemes of a fugitive relative, the Marquis de Saint-Maixent, to produce a scandalous series of events. • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Thanks much, Lynne!

Sorry for my delay on this... my voice took its time recovering from a fall seasonal allergy :/

But, Patty Marie, I've got draft recordings for the entire project :) Yay! Look forward to your thoughts.

Would both of you like to be a part of the final part of Vol 7, Murat?

Best,
John

Yes, I would like to continue to the end. There's been quite a co-incidence this evening. With nothing to download and proof as of last night, I was listening to the Librivox recording of W.B. Yeats's "Celtic Twilight" while I cleaned my refrigerator earlier this evening and heard a familiar voice come on for section twenty-something and the following one. That got me wondering so I remembered to check here just now. :)

Sections 1, 2 and 3 are PL OK.

Section 4:
3:46 interment/internment in the phrase "found neither stone, nor foetus, nor any indications of an interment. "

Most enjoyable readings. :)

Section 4 is PL OK. I guess this is ready to be cataloged. :)

I've bookmarked part 3, Murat, to watch for the files to come in.
