Faraon (tom 1) by Bolesław Prus (1847 - 1912).
This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page here:
https://librivox.org/faraon-tom-1-by-boleslaw-prus/
- Text source (only read from this text!): https://polona.pl/item/363063/9/
- Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard
IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).
Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Another Polish classic and again, like Lalka, by Bolesław Prus. And again in 3 volumes

As a matter of fact we already have an English translation of this one in the catalogue ("The Pharaoh and the Priest") so it's time someone added the original thing.
Here the chapters are much shorter than in "Lalka" so I'll probably take shorter to record it too. In fact I've just finished recording 3 sections one after another.

Don't have admin access to the magic window yet, but sections 1, 2 and 3 PL ok. I've read Faraon ages ago, probably still at school, but remember these two scarabs

I read the book a few years ago and then, some 3-or-so years ago I was the DPL for the English translation (the one I mentioned in the second post) which first give me a thought of launching the Polish project.
