Harper's Young People, Vol. 01, Issue 05, Dec. 2, 1879 by Various ( - ).
All audio files can be found on our catalog page: http://librivox.org/harpers-young-people-vol-01-issue-05-dec-21879-by-various/

Harper's Young People upon its first publication in 1879 was an illustrated weekly publication containing delightful serialized stories, short stories, fiction and nonfiction, anecdotes, jokes, artwork, craft projects, and more for children. This fifth issue of the serial was published on December 2, 1879. Published by Harper & Brothers, known for their other publications Harper's Bazaar and Harper's Magazine. (Summary by Jill Engle)
    1. How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here To find a section to record, simply look at point 5. below at the sections. All the ones without names beside them are "up for grabs." Click "Post reply" at the top left of the screen and tell us which section you would like to read (include the section number from the left-most column in the reader list, please). Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
    2. New to recording? Please read our Newbie Guide to Recording!
    3. Is there a deadline? We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
    4. Where do I find the text? Source text (please only read from this text!): http://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/28246
    5. Please claim sections (the numbers in the first column below)! If this is your first recording, please let me know under which name or pseudonym you'd like to appear in the LibriVox catalogue. We can also link to a personal website/blog.

Prospective Prooflisteners: Please read the Listeners Wanted FAQ before listening! Level of prooflistening requested: standard

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Thanks so much, Betty! I've put them in the MW and will take a listen to them later today if we don't have a DPL or PL by then.

Hi Deborah.

Yes! You may certainly claim section 03. We're glad to have you! I see you have posted your 1-minute test on the Listeners and Editors Wanted board, that's great! It's best if you get feedback there and get your test OK-ed before recording for this project, however since you already have it posted it shouldn't take too long to get to that point in the process.

I have added you to the LibriVox catalog (although I believe you were actually in there from when you claimed a section before), you can see your catalog page at: https://librivox.org/reader/9367. You can also get to this by clicking on your name in the Magic Window (MW). This is a good place to look to keep track of recordings you've signed up for, to see section details click on the link to "Reader Section Details" which appears just a few lines down from your name.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Welcome to LibriVox!

Great! Section 01 is all yours, Jeff. Enjoy reading about people living with wild baby bears, fascinating and horrifying all at the same time. And in a children's magazine no less... Thanks!
