Thanks Judy, section 5 is yours!

Dave, those are the same PL notes, is this the same file? It is possible I put the wrong link in the MW...

It was a different file than the original. Thanks for asking.

Ok, thanks.

Emma, you don't need to re-record, just edit the file you have to include the opening credit and then amplify the whole file - if you tell me what software you are using I can help you with the settings.

Hello Candybatch!

I am using Sound Forge Audio Studio, Version 10. The mic I use is CAD U37 USB Studio Recording microphone. I sent the wrong copy in before. I have made the changes on it, but send me your settings so that I can apply them to enhance the sound. I didn't see your name on the MC list. Can I send the link directly to you, or do I send it to triciag?

I hope to hear from you soon.

Thank you,

Emmas

No, you're fine. If you have already edited the file according to Dave's previous comments, just reupload your new file to Tricia's folder, just like before. Please post the new time and link here (and if you are going to re-export anyway you can add the "128kb" at the end.)

Each project has three key people:
- the MC (Meta Coordinator) who is responsible for the folder and the files and puts it all into the catalogue at the end.
- the BC (Book Coordinator) who manages the day to day responding to readers and the Magic Window (MW)
- the DPL (Dedicated Proof Listener) who listens in detail to every file and gives the feedback to bring it within our technical requirements. If you ask, the DPL or BC (or both) can also give you more detailed feedback about how to make your reading better, if you want that. The policy here is not to volunteer "extra" constructive criticism though, so you will need to ask for that. Some people put "CC" for Constructive Criticism in their signature, if they want ongoing feedback.

So Tricia is our MC (thanks Tricia! ) and Dave is our DPL (thanks Dave! :9: ) and I'm Candy, the BC who had the idea for the project and then asked these guys and you (the readers) to do all the real work! ;)

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with that software, so I can't help with that. But it will have an amplifier somewhere to let you amplify by Dave's recommended 5-6dB (decibels). Then have another quick listen and see if you need to noise clean - there's full instructions for that in the Wiki, which you can find through the introduction forum if you need it later - for now I'll pop the link here: http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Noise_Cleaning

You are nearly there! Just a few more tweaks and you can go read something else!

Thanks Emma, you're done! You are free to unsubscribe from this thread if you wish, and go find something else you'd like to record! (The first recording is the hardest - now you know how it all works! )

10
Volume is low (85.6dB) and needs to be amplified about 3dB.
Files >30m should have 10s of silence at end.
Otherwise, pl ok.
