I have marked it PL OK!
The noise level was much better.
The volume had gone up to 91 dB, which is right on the upper limit, so just scraped through

Have you downloaded Checker? It's free and very handy for checking your volume yourself. I run all my files through it as I have a tendency to be quiet, too. http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

This is a cute story for a first reading, but there are a few things to do before you get started.
You will need to complete a one minute test - this is to check your specs are up to Librivox standards, and if not, you'll be given hints on how to remedy that. http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/1-Minute_Test
Please post your test in the Listeners Wanted forum (see the dropdown at the bottom of the page) for the speediest response. Waiting for the OK may seem tedious, but can save time in the long run.
You will also need to be added to the catalog of readers. I can do that for you, but I will need to know how you wish to appear. Most of us use our real names but a pseudonym or your forum name are acceptable. We can also link to a personal blog or website.

so sorry 4 the delay in getting my chapter recording done and uploaded, had some difficulty uploading the test recording as an MP3 file but finally got it figured out and have it uploaded and waiting to hear back about it. Will record my assigned chapter as soon as i am cleared with the 1-minute test. Thanks for your patience with this situation. This is my first time doing anything like this and i am not tec-savy at all, but i got some help and got the wheels moving...... YAH

I hadn't a clue when I started (some would say I still don't...) and there is so much to learn at first. Please don't be afraid to ask. Also, if you look in the wiki (link at the top of every page) there are answers to almost any problem you might have. Try typing videos in the search box... One of our admins has made a whole bunch of YouTube videos (mostly 2-5 minutes long) on all manner of things. It's how I learned most of it

I like the stories and I love reading but my favorite part is the editing mainly because I'm learning so much. Audacity may (or may not lol) be a simple program but its great for someone like me who had zero experience. These posts and the help section/videos are great resources. Thanks!
