Confirmed. It's two different readers, two different recordings.

I'll need the BC to work on this, if possible. I'm out of town all this week.

If there ever was a correct chapter 22, it's gone with the deleted files. So we'll need a new recording. We can keep the second chapter 20 as an alternate reading, but need someone to record 22.

:D Hello Tiffany:
I would be happy to record Chapter 22 but there seems to be a little confusion in the titling. The book says "Chapter 22 is My Second Dinner Party and not A Remarkable Fact"
Which one is it?
MW SAYS
20 Her Story (part 1) Roohi PL OK
21 Her Story (part 2) Roohi PL OK
22 A Remarkable Fact Khaghbboommm PL OK

BOOK
CHAPTER XXII.
MY SECOND DINNER-PARTY.

CHAPTER XX.
A REMARKABLE FACT
I will submit in mono this time and hopeful in the right audio range?.
Which one is it?

Ok I think I have it figured out. Section 20 chapter 19 Her story part 1 needs to be recorded. Sections 20 and 22 are both chapter 20 A Remarkable Fact right now, they seem to be two different recordings of the same chapter both read by by the same person (or an edited and unedited version of the same chapter or something). The section and chapter numbers do not line up as some of the chapters had to be divided up, so even though you will be recording chapter 19 it is put under section 20. I hope this makes sense, if you are unsure about anything just ask!

And we had someone read Her Story, Part 1 a couple posts up. :) So if that is PL OK, and the section number is correct on the file, we can move it to Archive and call this done. 8-)

The currently cataloged section 20, which is actually section 22 (duplicate, but a different reader), has no LibriVox intro. I'm going to just pitch it.

Section 20:

4:04 - "Other branches he taught me himself" - this fades in such that "Other branches" is hard to understand

7:35 - "I had not gone farther, I fancy" - same issue with fading in.

9:17 - "Here I lived for several months" - same issue

11:47 - "My father had never talked much" - same issue

13:36 - "The house was in an old square" - same issue

15:25 - "One evening I have particular cause to remember" - same issue

17:35 - "It began to grow dark; and, tired of standing" - same issue

20:35 - "I have no theory about dreams and visions;" - same issue

I have no idea why you have this happening. Well, no - I have one idea. These all happen at the start of a new (long) paragraph. Are you recording each of these paragraphs separately somehow, then running compression on them individually? Compression can have that fade-in effect. If this is the case, I recommend recording the entire section, appending any separate recordings onto the end of the original recording, then running compression on the entire file at once. (By the way, in Audacity, if you stop the file, hold down the Shift key while pressing Record, and it'll start recording at the end of the current track rather than starting a new track.)

If that isn't what's going on, then I have no idea how to advise you. :hmm:

:D Hello Again Tiffany:
My question is if I do Part I of Her story where do I stop to end the section Part 1 which is Section 20---- Part 2 is Section 21. The whole chapter has 8,796 words in it and it is in the authors book as Chapter 19.

Jules - we've already had someone record Her Story, Part 1, so you don't need to do it. :)

Yes, sorry about the confusion, I was in the middle of a whole bunch of stuff outside of LV so I really don't remember much about what happened with those sections before. Sorry about all the confusion

I fixed section 20 file as well as I could and cataloged it.

This issue is now resolved, aside from the CD cover file length and the M4B file.
