I have always been a fan of the Perception 120 USB, and it suits your voice beautifully.

There is a slight stumble at the start of the recording that you might like to remove. Otherwise good.

Cheers
Obs, forgot that, uploaded again:)

Thought I'd try this on my iPad, sitting my living room, patting my dog. I did have to run it through Audacity/Replay Gain b/c the volume was in the 70s but other than that it is unaltered.

Thanks Jennifre

Excellent reading. PL OK.

Sound quality is very good, especially considering that you are using an internal microphone in a portable device. It is amazing how quickly technology improves.

I got a new mic today and couldn't wait to post on this thread. It's really different than my other one - I had to turn the input volume way down (from 85 to 50 or so) and it is still a little loud. I am sure I'll figure it out :D

The Rode NT-USB certainly justifies its reputation as one of the best USB microphones around.

The amount of "fixing-up" these raw recordings require remind me of my first car. I was always confident that I could keep it running, just so long as I didn't ever run out of piano wire. "Piano wire?", I hear you ask. Yes, piano wire. Kept the doors from falling off.

Algy, the bell-birds are very supportive and encouraging, but the whipbird is such a taskmaster!

Thanks Brian

Both readings are PL OK.

This actually Microphone Showdown number 3 - I have corrected the file names.

I noticed a slight background hum in the recording of the Clough poem. I don't know whether it came from the interface or the microphone.

Cheers
