Um - I do wonder about something, due to my own listening experiences around here:
in multi-reader projects, is there no effort taken to at least normalize them all together? I've often found some so quiet that it's difficult to crank up some of my devices sufficiently to hear, then others jump way off the meter and blast the old eardrums! Background noise (yes, the FLOOR) can be overbearing, too, at times - but who's responsibility would it be to even SUGGEST that such needed more work? I know, it's a volunteer operation, and we don't want to offend anyone, but sometimes my own threshold is exceeded to the point where I simply can the whole book!
That said, now you're probably wondering how well I might take "constructive criticism" with respect to my own work. Well, I'm sure I'm a thin-skinned little girl, but that's just a guess.
