Yes, I would definitely enjoy reading the List of the Names and Sentences of the Convicts of the etc.........will it meet the 30 minute requirement?

Thank you!

Let's see now...

759 convicts on the 11 ships of the First Fleet. To last thirty minutes, you'd need to fit 25 names to each minute. So that's one every 2 seconds or so.

A metronome with the clicker sound off might help. The regular slow intonation should be positively hypnotic! :D

If there were a minute or two of underruning, the names and brief descriptions of the ships of the First Fleet would flesh out the thirty minutes. They must be available in quite a number of texts.

Hope this helps.

Please don't use more than one text per section. Among other issues, it's a cataloging nightmare.

Rather than that, I'd suggest reading all of chapter 4 - the list of names, plus the ~5 pages of commentary afterward.

Hi! First-timer here. I'm adie2016. This thread caught my eye because I sometimes also find myself awake in the wee hours of the night struggling to go to sleep.

I found this work on project gutenberg. If possible, would this be appropriate to record?

Title: A Catechism of Familiar Things; Their History, and the Events Which Led to Their Discovery
With a Short Explanation of Some of the Principal Natural
Phenomena. For the Use of Schools and Families. Enlarged
and Revised Edition.

Author: Benziger Brothers

I hope someone replies.
Many thanks!

edit: If it is, then I want to volunteer to read this text. :)

That looks pretty good. You'd have to do 2-3 chapters in a section, if they're all about the same length as the first one.

Actually, the book looks interesting to me. It'd make a good group project!

Thanks! I actually also found it pretty interesting when I read through the first chapter, but I thought it would be relaxing enough to lull people to sleep with all the definitions provided in the text. So, it's okay to record? :) I'll setup my audacity and do my test then and then I'll start on the first three chapters of this if possible :)

Hi again :)

I can't get my garageband to export files properly from my ipad and my audacity is having certain issues with windows10 so I thought maybe I could use wavepad instead? I posted this earlier this morning in the listeners wanted portion of the forums. Please do tell me if there are issues with the recording or if I could go ahead and use wavepad to record the catechism of familiar things text. Thanks!

Yes, the text is OK to use in this project. :)

I see you've gotten a response on your test. I'll post over there my comment about it.

As a Steven Universe fan, I am morally obligated to claim the Natural Gemstone booklet from the USGS:

Sounds good! Have fun with it.

In this project, I don't enter claims into the MW; I only enter recorded projects. So consider this your green light to record. :)
