The Just So Stories generally have the theme of a particular animal being altered from an original form to its current form by the acts of human kind or some magical being. Whale has a tiny throat because he swallowed a mariner, who tied a raft inside to block the whale from swallowing other men. The Camel has a hump given to him by a djinn as punishment for the camel's refusing to work (the hump allows the camel to work longer between times of eating). And so on throughout the book. A fun collection of stories with something for everyone ( Michele Eaton )
Is there a deadline?
We ask that you submit your recorded sections within 1-2 months of placing your claim. Please note that to be fair to the readers who have completed their sections in a timely way, if you haven't submitted your recording(s) after two months, your sections will automatically be re-opened for other readers to claim, unless you post in this thread to request an extension. Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool. There's no shame in this; we're all volunteers and things happen. Please do not sign up for more sections than you can complete within the two month deadline.
How to claim a part, and "how it all works" here

Read points 6. to 8. below for what to do before, during and after your recording.
Where do I find the text? Please only read from the Google Docs links in the MW.

Also, could I please claim the narration of Stories 2, 4, 7, 12 and the Kangaroo in Story 6?
(Please note that stories 8 and 9 are related and contain related characters. If possible, I suggest it would be nice to have the same narrator for both too. Also note that Story 12 probably needs gender correct readers, as it is a play on gender roles.)

May I read Taffy in stories 8 and 9 and the Woman in story 11 and narrate story 1, please?
Also, the link for story 7 doesn't work, I don't think it's been made public.
Thanks!

Sorry! I was doing this late last night and I thought I did it all properly - but in retrospect at that time of night there was bound to be at least one mistake!
Story 7 should be accessible, Story 10 link is corrected and by way of apology I've added in all the characters to the MW as well!
I can come off MW access again now, if you need the space. Otherwise I can just stick my own narrator files in as soon as they are done!
