This is another commentary by Matthew Henry, well known for his commentaries on the Bible, this one is on Genesis, the first book of the Bible. ( fiddlesticks)

This is an abandoned solo, brought back as a group project!

Extensions will be granted at the discretion of the Book Coordinator. If you cannot do your section, for whatever reason, just let me know and it'll go back to the pool.      Need noise-cleaning?
     Listen to your file through headphones. If you can hear some constant background noise (hiss/buzz), you may want to clean it up a bit. The new (free) version 1.3.3. of Audacity has much improved noise-cleaning. See this LibriVox wiki page for a complete guide.

MW is in place! I've kept the sections as they were, so apparently Chapter 4 is also long and needs to be split in two parts. Check the text and choose a suitable place for the splitting.
I checked the discussions in the old thread and there seemed to be an issue with the numbering, as there are various points, sub-points, sub-sub points, etc, in the text. Maybe you can find a way to handle the numbering, and suggest that to readers, so that it's consistent in the group project.

Thanks Rapunzalina!!! I will fill the MW with word counts when I have time, hopefully today, but if not then tomorrow. I noticed the problem with the numbering, and am thinking about a solution, though I have not gone through it carefully yet. I cannot decide if I want to DPL or not, typical indecisive me so I thought we could stay on the launch pad for a few days and if no one volunteers I will.

sections 1, 2, and 3 had a lot of pl notes, so many the soloist said that they just needed to be redone, so I was wondering why they are marked PL OK in the MW?

Yes, I marked those PL OK. I read through the previous thread to find the PL notes; it was the numbering issue. The soloist changed the way he read the numbers from the 4th section on, and so he decided to redo the previous sections to apply the same numbering. I marked them PL OK because I don't think it's worth rerecording just for that, but you may decide to have them redone, up to you!

The way he did it in those first sections was just reading the numbers "one, two, three," etc so it may be unclear to the listener, which is a main point, which a sub-point, etc.

Hi all,

Just thought I'd drop in here, and hopefully provide some history, as I was the original DPL.

All 5 sections were originally PL OK! While recording the sections, Drew felt the original reading of the numbering was confusing to himself and listeners (I agreed), so he began to make the difference noted above, beginning with Section 4. So for consistency, he wanted to go back and adjust sections 1, 2, and 3 after the other sections were submitted. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to continue the project.

Also, about this time (Dec. 2013), a discussion in another thread (viewtopic.php?p=962097#p962097) regarding a recommendation or LV practice of using Word-Perfect PL for Biblical and other sacred writings, caused Drew to change the PL to Word Perfect (it began as Standard). That's why there was a large increase in PL notes for the later Sections. Both Drew and I were relatively new at the time, so were both unaware of the Word-Perfect practice for such works.

Unfortunately, due to emphasis more on reading/recording than on PLing, I cannot (re-)volunteer for the DPL position at this time. Good luck and enjoyable recording of such monumental work.

Yes, as this is not a sacred writing, but rather a commentary on one, PL standard is fine.

Yes, it's clear to understand and I think it will sound OK, especially since it follows the soloist's pattern.

I will be along to read something. I've got some big projects to put away first. I might consider DPL. I suspect this one will take a while considering the long sections. I just did a Wesley sermon of over 7,000 words and it was more than an hour of raw recording! This would have been a huge solo project.

Sounds great! I PLed a lot of his commentary on Matthew and it was really good, so I when I saw this I just had to pick it up, even if it will be a lot more work!
