Complete [DRAMATIC READING] Black Beauty by Anna Sewell-m8b1
I see that there is about 2 hours worth of PLing in the MW. Do you need help? I know this book very well, so I could start from the last currently edited chapter and PL backwards, if that would be of use? I have a bit of time at the moment, but I can't record while my voice is affected by horrible hay fever!

Please do! I was just going to ask for help, as our editors are being super productive and life is a bit busy right now. Thank you!Elizabby wrote:I see that there is about 2 hours worth of PLing in the MW. Do you need help? Just realized I left two readers off the cast list - this should be the correct version
Did we decide to have the spoken cast list as a separate file? Although normally I prefer to have it included with Chapter 1, I feel like under the circumstances it would be best to separate them. I'll fix up the MW for that option - I think Arielle will need to record an intro and outro.Black Beauty: Arielle Lipshaw
I just looked at the MW. There are 11 chapters that haven't been edited, including the DP. 6 of those haven't been claimed for editing. Of the 5 that have been claimed, 3 are waiting on parts:
Chapter 8 is waiting on lines from Squire Gordon (silverquill)
Chapter 27 is waiting on lines from Lord W (Zames Curran). I heard from him on the 28th and he said he'd do it but it would be a few days.
Chapter 35 is waiting on lines from Governor Gray (Twinkle88)
We're so close!! I'll edit 44 next.

Chapters 25, 26, 34, 36, 38, 40, 42 and 43 are PL OK! This book is lovely as a DR!
PL note for Chapter 33:
@3:42 the second half of Jerry's line is missing "And if so, I'll keep up my spirits a little longer."
PL note for Chapter 41: the outro says "End of Chapter 43" (Correction could be cut and pasted from the intro, probably.) If this chapter is being reuploaded anyway, there are quite a few longish pauses in the butcher's speech towards the end which could be closed up a bit to make the flow better - but that's a subjective comment so have a listen back and see how you feel.
(In terms of what to call the new "Section 0" - I would usually call it "Introduction/Preface" and "Dramatis Personae/Cast" depending on what is in there.)
Just to note that in the MW the spelling of "Reuben Smith" in the title of Chapter 25 is incorrect.

Wow, that's a lot of PLing! Chapter 41 is reuploaded and ready for spot PL. I think Kim edited Chapter 33.

Chapter 37
Has been recorded by both Jeremiah and Polly, but is actually the servant of a client.“‘Well,’ said he, ‘the real fact is, master was put out because Mr. Barker refused to come on Sundays, and he has been trying other cabs, but there’s something wrong with them all; some drive too fast, and some too slow, and the mistress says there is not one of them so nice and clean as yours, and nothing will suit her but Mr. Barker’s cab again.’”

I think that paragraph should be Polly - she is reporting her conversation with the servant, and it ends with Polly "out of breath", which suggests that she was the one speaking.

I agree. It is kind of confusing looking at it, but I definitely think it is Polly repeating what the servant said.Elizabby wrote:I think that paragraph should be Polly - she is reporting her conversation with the servant, and it ends with Polly "out of breath", which suggests that she was the one speaking.

If the cast list is pretty long, I say make it a separate file. And as Beth said, it usually is called the Dramatis Personea - I would go with that personally.
