To you two who have volunteered: your names have been added to the list.

This is sort of a silly post just to bump the thread up. Wheee.

Greetings

Just scanning through the text I need to read (Javert Satisfied). The town where Jean Valjean is mayor is given no other name than M. sur M. Do I read that as it is written. I realise that M. is the French abbreviation for Monsieur but this does not appear appropriate to my knowledge of French (which wasadmittedly a mere 3 months in grade 7). Any ideas?

Cheers

We don't bump threads - patience, patience! :) It'll take a while for this to fill up, but we'll get it done eventually. You're doing this quite right - please always respond to people's post in the thread, as well as managing the reader list. :)

The town is really called, 'Montreuil-sur-Mer'*; some versions shorten it so an english reader can know it better. 'M.' is only 'Monsiuer' when in front of a name.

Mean, 'Montreuil of the Sea'.

And sorry about the bumping. :) Now I know!

Hey Smiley Guy

I think I have just finished recording. It is my first recording so let me know if there are any hassles.

Oooh, Smileyman, what a great project. It's one I've considered coordinating myself, but I decided wasn't up to such a massive project right then. Please sign me up for the following chapter:

Bk 01, ch. 03: A Hard Bishopric for a Good Bishop

Thanks!

heatherrausten, you've been signed up!

Also, Crazy Man, your recording is good. The only problem is this odd humming sound in the background...but besides that, it is muy bueno.

Ok

Maybe it was the fan in my laptop or maybe the harddrive. I'm not sure. Do I need to redo it?

Also. Could I have the next chapter too (ch 69). I realised that that is the one with the dialogue after I did the first.

Cheers

Redo it only if you want to. The noise isn't awful, just sort of irratating.

And yes, you can have that next chapter.

Crazy Man, this thread might be of interest re computer fan problems: http://librivox.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5660

You may also want to look into cleaning up your files (filtering out the noise), though it's always best to stop the noise from happening in the first place.

And I'm saying all this without even having listened to your file, so please bear that in mind! :)
