That's fine if you want to do it that way, but you can always download the files from the Magic Window Just right click on Listen on your section, then Save Link As. That's what I do when I proof listen. So, I have a copy on my computer that I can send you.jscottbennett wrote:Thanks for the kind feedback! Seems I have made a newbie mistake, however. When I exported the files I didn't save the original audacity file for these poems. This gives me a chance to go back and re-do them both and make them better. I think I may be sitting too far from the mic. I'm going to change my recording environment and try to take care of the sound. If that doesn't bring the sound level up, I will do it within audacity. I too noticed the birds but couldn't persuade them to go away. Hopefully locating to a different room will reduce some of the background noise. I should have these two redone and ready by the end of the day. Thanks.
But, I often will redo these short pieces depending on what needs to be done. Mic position and volume settings can be tricky. I do the best I can and then rely on Audacity to adjust things as needed. I use the Checker program to check volume when I listen, but I know use the ReplayGain plugin when I record to get a quicker feedback on volume adjustment.
Don't worry too much about those birds -- just scarcely noticeable.
Thanks for your good work, Scott!
