I realized in working on my second recording that I screwed up while doing the noise reduction on this file, and only applied it to the last five seconds. I am going to re-upload the corrected file. Sorry about that!

These are fine for your first recordings.

Just two minor things.

Section 22 is too low in volume at 83.8 dB Just amplify it up closer to 89 dB.

Section 23 at 0:53.5 there is a loud car horn. Sometimes we let these things pass, but since you asked for feedback, I thought it would be worth mentioning. It does stand out.

It is often difficult to record and insert a phrase and make it sound right, but see what you can do. Sometimes I'll record a larger section where there or natural breaks, of for a short piece I might do a fresh recording.

Let me know how it goes, upload the new files and post a note here. Note any change in file length.

Thanks. Your really are off to a good start!

Thanks silverquill! I've amplified section 22: https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/leda_22_huxley_128kb.mp3

I'm going to try to re-record section 23 since it's only a few minutes long. Will post when I have it.

Both this and 22 are PL OK!

I think you are off to a good start, and I hope to hear a lot more of you here at LibriVox!
