Thanks for your fine reading of these poems!

There are, however, several technical issues that need to be taken care of.

1). The files must be named in exactly the correct format. You will always find this in the instructions just under the Magic Window in the initial post. For this project it is:

Save files as
128 kbps MP3
leda_##_huxley_128kb.mp3 (all lower-case) where ## is the section number (e.g.

So, you should export your files as:
leda_16_huxley_128kb
leda_17_huxley_128kb
leda_18_huxley_128kb

as .mp3 files which will be appended to the end. Then upload them per instructions and they should come out right.

2. The Ninth Philosopher's Song is at too low a volume, measuring 80.8 dB on Checker. The LibriVox target is 89dB with a range of 2-3 dB either side. So, this one will need some amplifcation.

3. The beginning silence should be LESS than ONE second. All of these are closer to FOUR seconds.

4 The ending silence should be only FIVE seconds, and all of these are longer. Easy to trim.

5. The ending, what we often call the "outro," for this project is:
"End of poem. This recording is in the public domain."
The second sentence of this does not appear in any of these recordings, so will have to be added to each one.

These technical things will become second nature after awhile, so don't worry. Just make these corrections, upload them again as before and post another note here with the new file lengths.

All the best,

Sorry for the late reply. I haven't had time to record recently due to a combination of long hours at work and computer issues. :(
I'll post some of my parts sometime tonight or tomorrow! :)

Just fnished Part 1 of Leda! Quick question, at the end, do I say, "end of poem" or "end of part 1?" Thanks!

Thanks, Sean!

These are great -- except that the volume is too low.

8 -- 81.9 dB
9 -- 82.0 dB

Our target is 89 with a range of about 86-92.
So these need about 7 dB of amplification.

Hmmm. Seems I didn't sign up for anything. If you wouldn't mind PLing, or having someone else do it, I would take on the final piece, Sections 30-33. There is some challenging material there, but so expressive.

Wonderful. They look good, so I'll mark them as PL OK, with much gratitude. Thank you for your excellent contributions to this volume.
